FBS is a service provided to caregiver(s) of individuals with behavior challenges.
FBS teaches the caregiver(s) how to successfully manage challenging behaviors listed in the individuals IFSP/IPP in a consultation format.
A behavior consultant typically visits the caregiver(s) and the individual in their home or other natural environment (e.g. grocery store, park, etc.) to teach behavior management strategies and coach through specific situations.
FBS programs may work on behaviors and skills such as:
The behavior consultant may visit the caregiver(s) and individual(s) 1-5 times per week for 1-3 hours each time.
A typical program may range from 3 months to 1 year, depending on behavioral needs.

FBS services can be funded by private pay, select insurance providers, or regional centers.
